Cultural Day

This week was very busy as all the children had the opportunity to learn about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture with some visitors from the local Yuwibara tribe and members of the Torres Strait Islander community.

They shared their culture through traditional music using a didgeridoo or Yigi Yigi, dance, coconut leave weaving, using a casting net and coconut pealing.

All the children had a good time especially the Toddlers who loved the coconut milk once they tasted it. We will have all the photos up on the TV’s at the entrance of the centre all next week.
